Nel 1999 \u00e8 stata inserita nell&#8217;elenco dei <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/tentativelists\/1383\/\">siti candidati al Patrimonio dell&#8217;Umanit\u00e0 dell&#8217;UNESCO<\/a>.  La fortezza di Hulbuk ha una lunga storia ed \u00e8 un simbolo della storia della civilt\u00e0 della nazione tagica. La fortezza di Hulbuk si trova a 30 km a sud-ovest di <a href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/it\/tagikistan\/destinazioni-del-tagikistan\/kulob\/\">Kulob<\/a>, nella piccola citt\u00e0 di Kurbon Shahid.  <\/p><p>Le mura della fortezza sono state ricostruite in occasione del 2700\u00b0 anniversario della presunta fondazione di Kulob. La ricostruzione \u00e8 un modello della fortezza che mostra l&#8217;aspetto che si presumeva avesse prima, ma nessuno sa esattamente come fosse. I suoi confini erano inizialmente determinati dai fiumi <a href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/it\/guida-allasia-centrale\/amu-darya\/\">Amu Darya<\/a> e Vakhsh, ma nel X secolo i governanti cercavano alleanze fino a Balkh in Afghanistan.   <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Sono state identificate diverse citt\u00e0 famose all&#8217;interno del regno, ma il centro del potere regionale era Hulbek o Khulbuk. Khuttal raggiunse l&#8217;apice della sua potenza tra il IX e l&#8217;XI secolo, quando era la quarta citt\u00e0 pi\u00f9 grande dell&#8217;Asia centrale. Il Khuttal divenne uno stato cuscinetto e fu saccheggiato da entrambe le parti, ma in particolare dai Karakhanidi. Hulbek fu devastata e non si riprese pi\u00f9.    <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Hulbuk prosper\u00f2 grazie alla sua posizione strategica, alle terre fertili che la circondavano e ai depositi di oro, rame e sale.  <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">Dal IX al XII secolo, fu una delle pi\u00f9 grandi citt\u00e0 dell&#8217;Asia centrale. Sorvegliava l&#8217;ingresso occidentale dell&#8217;autostrada del Pamir e le vicine miniere di sale di Khoja Mumin. All&#8217;interno della fortezza furono costruiti due palazzi, quello inferiore nel IX e X secolo e quello superiore nell&#8217;XI e XII secolo, ma la cittadella croll\u00f2 insieme al regno.    <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: start;\">Infine, come tutto il resto dell&#8217;Asia centrale, Hulbuk fu invasa dai Mongoli e dalle trib\u00f9 turche.
