I suoi parenti e consiglieri avevano piani contraddittori che divennero realt\u00e0 quando Amir Timur mor\u00ec durante una grande campagna cinese e fu quindi sepolto nel Mausoleo Gur-Emir di Samarcanda. font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Il Gur-e Amir o Guri Amir \u00e8 un mausoleo che occupa un posto importante nella storia dell&#8217;architettura turco-persiana. Alcuni ricercatori ritengono che questa tomba sia diventata il prototipo e la base per monumenti storici famosi come la tomba di <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Humayun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Humayun<\/a> (sovrano Mughal nell&#8217;attuale India) e successivamente il Taj Mahal.   <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Il Gur i Amir fu in realt\u00e0 originariamente costruito per il nipote di Timur, Muhammad Sultan (1376-1403), che sarebbe dovuto diventare il suo successore ma che mor\u00ec troppo presto per poter diventare realt\u00e0.  <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Timur ne fu sconvolto e ordin\u00f2 di costruire il mausoleo, ma non visse abbastanza per vederlo completato perch\u00e9 mor\u00ec nel 1405. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Gur e amir ospita anche le tombe di altri tre governatori timuridi e dei suoi figli Timur-Miranshah (1366-1408), Shahruh (1377-1447) e di suo nipote Mirzo Ulugbeg (1396-1449). Miranshah era il terzo figlio di Timur. All&#8217;et\u00e0 di 20 anni, Miranshah sconfisse le truppe di Tokhtamish-Khan nel Caucaso e divenne il governatore delle regioni occidentali dello stato nel    <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">1390s<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">. <\/span> <\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; Alla morte del padre divenne il governatore supremo del vasto stato. In seguito cedette il trono a suo figlio, Mirzo Ulugbeg, che regn\u00f2 per quarant&#8217;anni. Shahruh mor\u00ec durante una campagna militare e fu sepolto a Herat. Ulugbeg si rec\u00f2 due volte nel Khurasan e alla fine sal\u00ec sul trono di Herat e port\u00f2 le spoglie del padre a Samarcanda. Nel 1449 il figlio di Ulugbeg, Abdullatif, si ribell\u00f2, detronizz\u00f2 il padre e organizz\u00f2 il suo assassinio.
