Il percorso di 433 chilometri \u00e8 uno dei pi\u00f9 grandi progetti infrastrutturali del Paese e riduce significativamente i tempi di viaggio tra il nord e il sud del Kirghizistan da circa 13 ore a circa<strong> 6 ore<\/strong> in condizioni normali. L'autostrada comprende importanti opere di ingegneria come il tunnel di Kok-Art, il pi\u00f9 lungo tunnel stradale del paese.  <br><br>Attualmente la strada \u00e8 aperta solo durante i mesi estivi e autunnali mentre proseguono i lavori di costruzione, mentre il funzionamento completo per tutto l'anno \u00e8 previsto per il 2028 dopo il completamento di ulteriori strutture protettive come gallerie antivalanghe e ponti. Nonostante l'apertura, le autorit\u00e0 consigliano prudenza, in quanto alcuni tratti di montagna, in particolare intorno a Kazarman, possono ancora essere interessati da cadute di massi e interruzioni dovute al tempo.
