The length of this green valley is about 150 km in east - west direction and the mountains surrounding it reach heights up to 4500 meters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">During the winter the whole area is covered with deep snow, more precisely from November to April. In the summer time the lush valley is populated with sheep and horses with lonely white yurts in the middle of vast green areas. The pastures of the valley are considered one of the best in\u00a0<\/span>Kyrgyzstan<span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00a0and the weather is considerably more cool than in the Chui valley area making it a perfect getaway in the +40C summer heat waves. Suusamur valley is sparsely populated except few small villages. font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Located on the road between\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff; text-align: justify;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/kyrgyzstan\/destinations-kg\/osh\/\">Osh<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff; text-align: justify;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/kyrgyzstan\/destinations-kg\/bishkek\/\">Bishkek<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">, Suusamyr lies at the south side of the 3 km long Too-Ashuu tunnel named after Kusain Kolbayev.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Kolbayev was a\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Kyrgyz Soviet political, state and economic leader, the first Minister of Road, Transport and Highways in Kyrgyzstan.\u00a0Thanks to him, the significant roads such as\u00a0<\/span>Bishkek<span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00a0-\u00a0<\/span>Osh<span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">, a tunnel through the Too-Ashuu pass and many more were constructed.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">In the summertime\u00a0 the tunnel is sometimes the bottleneck on the road between the two main Kyrgyz cities.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">The reason for traffic might be a herd of sheep or horses passing through the tunnel or tunnel reconstructions that take place frequently.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">You can experience a very different weather on each side of the tunnel. It is for example very normal to enter to the Too-Ashuu tunnel from a snowstorm and getting out from sunny side with amazing views into the Suusamyr valley or the other way around.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-307f291 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"307f291\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5505e09 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"5505e09\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-large\">Sulutor lakes <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-647deeb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"647deeb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">Just below the Too Ashuu pass there are two small lakes that you can stop to admire on the way to Suusamyr, called the Sulutor lakes. They are located West from the pass and make a nice stop between the driving to catch some fresh mountain air.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; text-align: left;\">Sulutor lakes, photo by\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff; text-align: left;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/j1becca\/\">@j1becca<\/a><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">From Suusamyr there are roads leading west towards\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/kyrgyzstan\/destinations-kg\/talas\/\">Talas<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">, east towards Kochkor through poor roads, southeast towards\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/kyrgyzstan\/destinations-kg\/naryn\/song-kul\/\">Song-Kul<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(again quite poor roads) and south - southwest towards\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/kyrgyzstan\/destinations-kg\/jalalabad\/toktogul-reservoir\/\">Toktogul<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0reservoir and finally\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/kyrgyzstan\/destinations-kg\/osh\/\">Osh<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and the\u00a0<a style=\"font-size: 16px;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/central-asia-guide\/fergana-valley\/\">Ferghana valley<\/a>\u00a0from where you can continue to\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/uzbekistan\/\">Uzbekistan<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/central-asia.guide\/tajikistan\/\">Tajikistan<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0or even to China. Please not that the road conditions in the winter time can be occasionally quite harsh in the valley and the passes around it. During winter it is sometimes required to have chains in the tires in order to climb the Too Ashuu
