Excursion d’une journée aux sept lacs du Tadjikistan depuis Samarkand Highlights
A private day trip from Samarkand across the border to the Seven Lakes of Tajikistan, a chain of mountain lakes in shades of turquoise and blue. Leaving your hotel at 7:00, you cross into Tajikistan, pass through Panjakent and drive up the valley into the Fann Mountains, where you have time to walk along the lakes, take photos and see the villages on their shores.
On the way back you stop at the lively Panjakent bazaar before returning to Samarkand in the evening. Choose the option that suits you: with a guide and lunch at a local teahouse, or transport only, travelling with the drivers at your own pace and paying for lunch yourself. Both include hotel pick-up and drop-off in Samarkand and the environmental fee for the lakes.
Difficulty: Easy Longue journée en voiture (départ 7h00, retour à Samarkand en soirée, environ 280 km) avec deux passages de frontière ; seulement de courtes et faciles promenades aux lacs et au bazar de Panjakent.
Itinéraire de la visite
At 7:00 in the morning your driver meets you at your hotel reception in Samarkand and takes you to the Uzbek–Tajik border (about 70 km). After crossing into Tajikistan you change to a Tajik driver and continue through Panjakent, the first town on the Tajik side, and up the valley to the Seven Lakes, about 70 km further. Spend the day around the lakes, each with its own colour, with time for walks and photos. Lunch is at a local teahouse – included with the guide and lunch option, at your own expense with the transport only option, where you travel with the drivers but without a guide. On the way back, stop in Panjakent to visit the local market (bazaar). In the afternoon, cross the border back into Uzbekistan and arrive at your hotel in Samarkand in the evening.
