Aventure de randonnée dans la vallée de Yagnob, au Tadjikistan Highlights
An 8-day trek from Dushanbe over the Khoki Pass (3,650 m) into the remote Yagnob Valley, staying in village guesthouses and tents. The adventure starts with a day in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan: the National Museum of Antiquities with the famous Sleeping Buddha from the Buddhist monastery of Ajina Teppa, the Museum of Musical Instruments and Folklore, the main market, Rudaki Park, dedicated to the Persian poet Rudaki, and the Ismail Somoni monument.
From Dushanbe you drive via Romit to Rufigar and walk to the foot of the Khoki Pass. After crossing the pass you descend to Kiryonte (2,600 m) and follow the Yagnob Valley through the villages of Piskon, Garmen, Kul and Nometkon, sleeping in guesthouses with local families or in tents. A day of walking between the villages of Kashe and Tagichinor shows you how people live in this hidden corner of Tajikistan, with a picnic lunch on every trekking day. On the last morning you visit Shovita, Makhtimain and Bidev before driving to the mountain lake Iskanderkul in the Fann Mountains and back to Dushanbe.
Difficulty: Challenging Six walking days of 4–7 hours, including the crossing of the Khoki Pass (3,650 m); 3 nights in tents and 2 in simple village guesthouses at about 2,500–2,600 m in the remote Yagnob Valley. A 2–3 hour mountain drive to the start of the trek and a long drive back to Dushanbe via Iskanderkul on day 7. Porters carry the luggage.
