Sayram-Ugam National Park

Sayram-Ugam National Park is a mountainous young national park, established only in 2006. It lies 70 km south of Shymkent. The park includes slopes of the Kazakhstan part of the Ugam range of the Western Tian Shan Mountains, running along the border with Uzbekistan. Sayram-Ugam National Park set in the Southwest from the well-known and older Aksu Zhabagly National Nature Reserve. Sayram-Ugam national park contains an exceptional variety of flora and fauna which is broadly similar to that at Aksu Zhabagly National Park. 

Gateway and head office of the Ugam’s national park is located in the former coal mining town of Lenger, about 40 km Southeast from Shymkent. In the village, the residents offer guesthouse and accommodation with meals. 

How to get to Sairam-Ugam National Park

You can get to Sairam-Ugam national park by marshrutkas going to Lenger in about 30 min. Take a marshrutka towards Lenger next to the Shymkent Central Bazaar. For Dikhankol, Kaskasu and Tonkeris there are marshrutkas abundantly through out the day from Tashenov stop near the Central Bazaar. Shared taxis are also an option and they leave from the same stops.
