Tamerlane
Amir Timur is also widely known as Tamerlane (Temirlane) and he was a Turkic ruler and conqueror. He founded the huge Timurid empire that covered today’s territory of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran and even more. Timur was known as an undefeated commander and the greatest military leaders and strategists in history.
Ulugh Beg Mirzo
Ulugh Beg, was a Timurid sultan, an astronomer, and a mathematician. Ulugh Beg was noted for his work in astronomy-related mathematics, such as trigonometry and spherical geometry and his general interests in the arts and intellectual activities. His legacy for Uzbekistan are the famous grand buildings and the achievements in science.
Bobur
Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur (also spelled as Bobur or Babur), was a conqueror from Central Asia, Uzbekistan. He was the founder of the Mughal Empire in the Indian subcontinent. He was a descendant of Timur and Genghis Khan through his father and mother respectively.
Al-Farghani
Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Kathir al-Farghani also known as Alfraganus in the West, was an astronomer in the Abbasid court in Baghdad, and one of the most famous astronomers in the 9th century. The lunar crater Alfraganus is named after him.
Alisher Navoi
Mir Ali Sher Navai, also spelled Nevai or Navoy, was a Central Asian Turkic politician, mystic, linguist, painter and a poet. He greatly contributed to the development of the Uzbek language and is widely considered being the founder of Uzbek literature.
