Mangystau Tour Information
Mangystau tours mostly start and end in Aktau and include most of the time extensive periods of driving in a 4WD car in desert-like conditions, far away from any services. Depending on the time you have available, Mangystau offers sights from few days to more than a week. During a Mangystau tour, you will see rugged landscapes with beautiful geological formations in addition to sacred religious sites that date back to times long before Islam reached this part of the world. There are also flora and fauna that have adapted to the dry conditions of the Mangystau region.
The accommodation during Mangystau tours is mostly in tents and sometimes in yurts or guesthouses. The food served during Mangistau tours will be mostly cooked at place as there are very few villages or other locations serving food where the best Mangistay sights are located. Nature and landscape photographers will love this region and drone pilots will shoot the photos and videos of their lives! The last part of the journey to visit Mangystau sights includes often some hiking and sometimes also ascending to a point of view. A: Mobile coverage is limited during the tour. It works in Aktau and some settlements, but remote desert areas often have no signal.

A: Toilets are basic in remote desert areas, nature friendly. Due to the remote desert environment, permanent shower facilities are limited in Mangystau. We offer several options to help guests stay refreshed during the tour.
Q: Are showers available during the tour?
A: Permanent showers are limited. We offer wet towels for basic body refreshment (up to 5 per person per night)
Shower services for extra fee:
- Mobile Camping Shower (Optional – $30 per group): Portable shower tent with manual pump Water provided (approx. 5L per person/day) Shared group setup
- Fixed Shower Stops (Optional – $2–3 per person): Available at selected locations such as: Yurt Ethno Camp, Tuzbair lunch stop, Janaozen city, Kyzylsay village, Availability depends on route and season.
