LENIN PEAK TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1. Osh city – Achyk-Tash Base Camp

Upon arrival at Osh Airport, after collecting your luggage and completing customs formalities, you will be welcomed by your guide. They will provide all the necessary documents and climbing permits.

Afterward, you will set off on a scenic drive to Achyk-Tash Base Camp, situated at the foot of the impressive Lenin Peak. Along the way, you will stop for lunch with a local family.

In the evening, dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay at the camp.

Today you will take part in an acclimatization hike to the ridge of neighboring Petrovsky Peak (4,200 m). From the top, you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley and the Achyk-Tash area.

If you prefer, you may spend the day at the camp to rest, prepare your equipment, and conserve energy for the next stage of the expedition.

Dinner and overnight at the camp.

After breakfast, you will hike over Traveler’s Pass (4,150 m) on your way to Camp 1. The ascent to the pass usually takes about 1–1.5 hours along a well-defined trail.

From the pass, you will enjoy impressive views of Lenin Peak and the Lenin Glacier. Snowdrifts can sometimes be seen here, adding a special atmosphere to the journey.

After crossing the pass, you will descend to the left moraine of the glacier, where approximately three more hours of trekking await. Along the way, you will carefully cross a mountain stream before continuing along the left moraine until reaching Camp 1.

In the evening, dinner will be served, followed by rest in the tents at Camp 1.

Today is one of the highlights of the program: the ascent of Yukhin Peak (5,130 m). The classic route does not involve steep rock or ice climbing, so it does not require special technical equipment or extensive mountaineering experience.

From the summit, you will enjoy an impressive panorama, with the majestic northern face of Lenin Peak rising before you and the vast Alay Valley stretching out below.

After a day filled with spectacular views, you will return to Camp 1 to rest and prepare for the next stage of the adventure. In the evening, dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay in tents at Camp 1.

After breakfast, we begin the return journey to Achyk-Tash Base Camp. The route starts with a short climb, followed by approximately four hours of continuous descent along scenic trails.

Upon arrival at the base camp, you can relax and enjoy the chance to take a shower a refreshing way to unwind after an active day.

In the evening, a festive dinner will be served to celebrate the successful completion of the route.

Today we say goodbye to the mountains and begin our return journey to Osh.

Along the way, lunch will be provided in the form of lunch boxes. Upon arrival in the city, you will check into your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure you may explore the city, visit the local bazaar, or simply relax.

Early in the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home, marking the end of the tour.

LENIN PEAK TOUR INFORMATION

Included in the tour price: 

  • Professional guide services – 1 guide per 3 PAX maximum 
  • Boundary zone permit, OVIR registration. 
  • Meeting and seeing off to / from the airport, transfer to/from the hotel. • Transfer Osh – Achyk-Tash Base Camp – Osh (according to the schedule) • Transfer Base Camp – Lukovaya Polyana – Base Camp (according to the  program) 
  • Hotel accommodation with breakfast in Osh – 1 night (early check-in/late check out is an additional charge). 
  • Lunch boxes along the way Osh – Achyk-Tash – Osh. 
  • Accommodation at Base Camp and Camp 1 (according to the program) in tents (2  people each). Each tent has wooden platforms with mattresses. Electricity is  available in each tent at Base Camp. 
  • Three meals a day, buffet-style, at Base Camp and Camp 1. Early breakfast is  available at Camp 1 from 3:00 AM to 4:00 AM upon request. 
  • Use of the dining hall, toilet, and storage locker. 
  • Hot showers at Camp 1, washroom at Camp 1. 
  • 220V power supply at Camp 1, and 220V, 50Hz power from a generator at Camp  1 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. 
  • Radio station rental. 
  • Environmental fees. 
  • First aid and doctor’s consultation at BC and Camp 1.

Must Have During the Hike
  • Waterproof trekking boots with ankle support
  • Waterproof jacket or raincoat
  • Hat or cap with earflaps and neck flap
  • Backpack with a capacity of 30 to 40 liters with a rain cover
  • Warm hat
  • Sleeping bag (comfortable temperature -5°C, please check the temperature)
  • Trekking poles (highly recommended when crossing streams, steep ascents, and descents)
  • Basic first aid kit, including: antiseptic and antihistamine cream, throat lozenges, diarrhea medication (Imodium), painkillers, bandages and corn plasters, insect repellent, and rehydration salts.
  • Sunscreen (including full coverage for ears, nose, etc.)
  • Fleece jacket or warm jumper
  • Good quality sunglasses
  • Warm gloves
  • Trekking pants
  • 1-liter water bottles (x2) (we recommend refilling bottles rather than using disposable plastic ones)
  • Water purification tablets
  • Several dry bags (to keep the contents of your hiking bag, laptops, and phones dry during your hike)
  • Hygienic lipstick
  • Headlamp and spare batteries
  • Thermal underwear
Optional Items to Bring on the Hike
  • Shoes for walking around town
  • Sandals for crossing rivers
  • Socks (1 pair for every 2–3 days of hiking)
  • Waterproof pants
  • A scarf or head covering (when visiting mosques and churches)
  • Shorts and/or swimsuit (for relaxing by lakes, hot springs, or rivers)
  • Buff or scarf for protection against dust and cold
  • Wash bag with toiletries
  • Antibacterial hand sanitizer
  • A small, quick-drying towel
  • Thermarest sleeping mat or similar (on classic Ak-Sai Travel hikes, 5 cm thick mats with thin underlays are provided)
  • Penknife (please pack sharp objects in your carry-on baggage)
  • Repair kit (needle, thread, adhesive tape)
  • Earplugs (for noise protection)

Additional Information

  • During the trek, you will sleep in tents with basic comforts. There is no internet access or air conditioning, and tents are usually shared with another participant.
  • The route may change due to weather or safety conditions. You will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide who will ensure your comfort and safety.
  • Transfer times are approximate and depend on road conditions and weather. Day hikes last 5–7 hours, covering 10–18 km, depending on the terrain and participants’ fitness.
  • Lunch during the trek will be packed from ingredients provided by the camp staff.
  • Bringing your own water bottle is recommended. Boiled water is provided along the route to reduce plastic use and protect the environment.

Permanent tent camps have been set up along the route since 2010, with ongoing improvements to infrastructure and comfort.

Booking this trek gives you access to all camp amenities throughout the tour, includes an ease and comfort on the road, no need to carry food or camping equipment. It would also reduce costs, no need to hire porters or cooks. And the safety, each camp has communication facilities and a detailed route map
