A year round Karakol – Almaty – Karakol bus line started to operate in September 20205 through the Kegen border checkpoint in Karkara. Based on initial information, the buses should depart daily or every other day as long as there is even one passenger. The tickets can be currently only bought from the cashier at the site and only on the day of departure. 

It has been also announced that since August 25, the Karkyra – Unaazhol (Kegen) checkpoint has switched to a 24/7 operation mode.
