You will learn ancient crafts like shyrdak making and yurt assembly, see horse games and eagle hunting as well as explore stunning landscapes, participate in traditional competitions, and hear captivating stories of Manas’ epic journey. KYRGYZSTAN TOUR ITINERARY
Meeting in Bishkek. Today we start at 10 am to learn about the legendary Epic of Manas. In the morning departure to the UNESCO-listed Burana tower on the Silk Road, where you will visit a small museum with exhibits from excavations and a fascinating collection of ancient stone balbals.
Next, you will watch a demonstration of the national horseback game “Kok Boru”.
*Note:
- For groups of 5 or more people: horseback games will be organized.
- For groups of 1 to 4 people: horseback games will not take place, but guests will have the opportunity to ride a horse and watch a video demonstration of the games.
(For an additional charge a horseback game demonstration can be arranged for a group of up to 4 people.)
Afternoon transfer to Chon-Kemin valley, accommodation in a yurt camp. Dinner and overnight in a traditional Kyrgyz yurt camp.
After breakfast, travel along the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul with stunning mountain views. Visit Semenov gorge and continue to Karkyra valley, where you will have the opportunity to participate in the preparation of boorsoks (traditional Kyrgyz bread). Dinner and overnight in a traditional Kyrgyz yurt camp.
After breakfast, spend the morning experiencing nomadic culture and trying traditional Kyrgyz games like Ordo, while learning about life on the jailoo (summer pasture).
After lunch, guests can choose from various camp services to enjoy at their leisure: hiking, sauna and steam bath, swings, and movie screenings at the bar.
For an additional fee: horseback riding.
Dinner and overnight in a traditional Kyrgyz yurt camp.
After breakfast, transfer to Karakol city where you will visit the unique Dungan Mosque, built entirely without a single nail, the Russian Orthodox Church and the Przhevalsky Memorial Complex.
Afterward, you will head to the bay of Lake Issyk-Kul and enjoy a boat trip (if the weather allows).
In the evening, return to Karakol. Here we have opportunity to meet Manaschi — a storyteller and guardian of the Epic of Manas — who will share this legendary tale in a captivating way.
Overnight at a hotel.
After breakfast, we will transfer to the south shore of Lake Issyk Kul.
Excursion to picturesque Jeti-Oguz gorge and in the colorful Skazka (Fairy Tale) canyon.
We will also test our archery skills and witness a demonstration of hunting with an eagle.
Dinner and overnight in a traditional Kyrgyz yurt camp.
After breakfast, transfer to Bokonbaev village to discover the art of making shyrdaks — traditional felt carpets for yurts. Continue to Kyzyl-Tuu to learn yurt frame crafting. After an intense experience, return to Bishkek, where your journey concludes.
