NORTHERN TAJIKISTAN TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1. Samarkand to Seven Lakes – Panjrud (160 km / 4–5 hours)
The tour begins with an early morning departure from Samarkand, crossing the Sarazm (Jartepa) checkpoint on your way to Panjikent.
You will drive into the picturesque Seven Lakes Valley (Haftkul), a series of alpine lakes set against dramatic mountain scenery. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the lakeshores, take photos, and soak in the natural beauty. Lunch is arranged outdoors or in a local teahouse. In the evening, you will stay at the Ruslan
Guesthouse near the third lake or continue to Panjikent, checking in at Panjikent Plaza 3* hotel. Dinner is served at the accommodation, followed by overnight stay.
Day 2. Panjrud to Gazza – Voru – Panjrud (100 km / 4–5 hours)
After breakfast, you will drive to the traditional mountain villages of Gazza, Voru, and Panjrud, enjoying the scenic mountain roads along the way.
In each village, short walks through gorges and streets allow you to interact with villagers, see their traditional homes, and experience their way of life.
This is a great opportunity to observe local crafts, agriculture, and customs. Dinner and overnight accommodation are arranged in a guesthouse, offering an authentic experience of rural life in the mountains.
Day 3. Panjrud to Iskanderkul (120 km / 4–5 hours)
Depart in the morning for Iskander Kul Lake, often called the “Pearl of the Fan Mountains.” On the way, admire the alpine scenery and prepare for an easy lakeside walk.
Visit the Fan Niagara Waterfall, a beautiful cascade surrounded by forested cliffs. Depending on the season, you may have the option to swim in the lake’s refreshing waters.
Dinner and overnight accommodation are arranged at Shahboz Guesthouse in Saratog village, offering a quiet and comfortable mountain retreat.
Day 4. Iskanderkul to Khujand (180 km / 4–5 hours)
After breakfast, depart for Khujand, stopping along scenic viewpoints to enjoy panoramic vistas of mountains and valleys.
Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and begin a cultural city tour. Visit Khujand Fortress, the Archaeology Museum, Sheikh Muslihiddin Mausoleum, and explore the bustling Panjsher Bazaar, a great place to see local crafts and sample regional specialties.
Dinner is served at a restaurant overlooking the Syr Darya River, followed by overnight stay at the Sugdiyon Hotel 3*.
Day 5. Khujand to Tashkent (167 km / 3–4 hours)
After breakfast, you will depart for Tashkent, crossing the Oybek checkpoint along the way. Enjoy the scenic drive as you leave the mountains behind and travel toward the capital. Upon arrival in Tashkent, check in at your hotel.
