Begin in Tashkent, exploring its grand squares, vibrant bazaars, and historical madrasahs. Journey to Samarkand, the jewel of the Silk Road, to marvel at the majestic Registan Square, Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, and the necropolis of Shah-i-Zinda. In Bukhara, wander through the centuries-old streets to uncover architectural masterpieces like the Ark Citadel and Poyi Kalon Ensemble. Cross the Kyzyl-Kum Desert to the fairytale-like city of Khiva, home to the well-preserved Ichan Kala.

Venture further to the Khorezmian fortresses and Nukus, where you’ll explore the Savitskiy art museum before traveling to the hauntingly beautiful Aral Sea. Witness the eerie “Cemetery of Ships” in Muynak and visit the sacred Mizdakhan Complex before returning to Tashkent to enjoy its modern parks and serene beauty. This journey promises a rich blend of history, culture, and nature that will leave you spellbound.

Tour Itinerary

Meeting at Tashkent airport. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. Guided sightseeing tour around Tashkent: Khast-Imam Square, Barak-Khan Madrasah, Kafal-al-Shashi Mausoleum, Chor-Su Bazaar, Kukeldash Madrasah; after lunch: Museum of Applied Arts, Independence Square, Amir Timur Square. Overnight at the hotel.

Early breakfast at the hotel (or breakfast boxes). Transfer to the railway station. Transfer from Tashkent to Samarkand by Afrosiab high-speed train (07:28-09:42).

Upon arrival in the city, we start our busy day in a jewel of the ancient and modern Silk Road. There is the mysterious jade mausoleum of Gur-i-Emir, the graveyard of Tamerlane. One of the greatest treasures is Registan Square, Temur’s outstanding creation, a huge complex of minarets, mosques and madrassas. Further we move on to Bibi Khanum Mosque, the gorgeous necropolis of Shah-i-Zinda, and the old observatory of Ulugbek, the greatest Muslim astronomer, and the neighboring Ulugbek museum.  Accommodation at the hotel in the evening, rest and overnight.

Continuation of the sightseeing tour in Samarkand. Visit Ulugbek Observatory, Afrosiab museum and settlement, Saint Daniel’s tomb, Khujum carpet factory, Silk paper workshop and Siab Oriental bazaar. 

Transfer to the train station after sightseeing. Catch en evening train to Bukhara. On arrival – accommodation at the hotel and rest.

Breakfast at the hotel. Meet the guide and start the sightseeing tour. Bukhara is filled with over 900 historical monuments, here we will spend time visiting many sites and wandering amongst the old city streets. Our focus will be directed today on Samanids Mausoleum and Bolo-Khauz Mosque. 

Further we proceed to the Fortress Ark, the old citadel of over 20 m in height. In the afternoon we will visit Poyi Kalon Architectural Ensemble that consists of Kalon Minaret, Kalon Mosque and Miri Arab Madrasah; Ulugbek Madrasah; Abdul-Aziz khan Madrasah, Lyabi Khauz Complex and the Trading Domes – Coumpol Bazaar, that has been existing here from the times of the Great Silk Road. Transfer to the hotel in the evening. Rest and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer across Kyzyl-Kum Desert and along Amudarya River to Khiva. Lunch en route. Arrival in Khiva. Leisure time. Visiting traditional workshops and souvenir shops is recommended. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast start of the guided sightseeing tour around Khiva. Visit the sights of Ichan Kala (historical inner city): Pakhlavan Mahmud Complex, Kunya-Ark Fortress, Islam Hoja Madrasah & Minaret. After lunch visit Tash Khauli Palace, Juma Mosque, Muhammad Aminkhan Minaret & Madrasah. In the evening return to the hotel for rest and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel and further transfer to Nukus – the capital city of Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan. En route we will stop twice to explore the ruins of the anceint Khorezmian fortresses of Ayaz-Kala and Toprak-Kala. On arrial in Nukus – accommodation at the hotel for freshen up. 

After lunch time visit famous Savitskiy art museum. Return to the hotel and rest.

Early breakfast at the hotel. At 07:00 in the morning departure from Nukus. Proceeding to Kungrad, then up to Ustyurt Plateau. Transfer to Sudochye Lake. Proceeding to Village of Urga, first Russian settlement in Khorezm and Aral Sea region, lunch en route. Then transfer to Aral Sea. Photographing canyons en route. Arrival at camp site; descent to shoreline. Dinner. Overnight in tents.

Landscape: steppe, desert, saline land, cliffs, bottom of gone-away sea.

Breakfast in tent camp. Proceeding to Muynak along the bottom of the disappeared sea. Visiting monument to the victims of the Second World War (now a monument to the Aral Sea), which is the highest point of the town of Muynak providing a wonderful panorama of the town and the bottom of the former sea.

Visiting famous “Cemetery of Ships” in Muynak. Next visiting a museum at the House of Culture in Muynak, where you can familiarize yourselves with the works of artists F. Madgazin and R. Matevosyan, who used to depict the Aral Sea and the Amudarya River. Lunch in traditional guest house of Muynak. Proceeding to and visiting Mizdakhan Complex: Caliph Erejep, Jumart-kassab hillock, half-underground Mazlumkhan-sulu Mausoleum, Shamun-nabi Mausoleum. Transfer back to Nukus. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast transfer to the local airport for further transfer back to Tashkent.

On arrival – meet at the airport and transfer to the hotel (check-in time at 14:00).
